I was an 811X0 and went through SPS tech school in the fall of 1970. Spent 5 years as an X0 before cross-training in 1975 and subsequently retiring 1992. Can one tour the current SP Academy if I were to be in the San Antonio / Lackland area later this year or is it closed to visitors? Just want to see how they are doing things now. I'm sure the training and equipment is much more sophisticated than what we had 48 years ago but it was memorable nevertheless. Thanks. MSgt Bill Stengle (USAF, Ret)

Bill -- the Security Forces Academy does not have regularly scheduled tours but they do host a few events each year for groups like the AFSFA National Meeting which will be held in Sep 2019. If you have a better idea of when you will be in San Antonio, with plenty of advanced notice, I'll check with the staff and see what is on their schedule.
